FAQs

What is a Clue Trail?

Clue Trails provides a great way to explore a town / village - whether you are local, or visiting!

The Clue Trails booklet contains clues requiring lateral thinking and observational skills to solve, that lead you to a final answer.

Clue Trails are self-guided walks, often including steps & potentially muddy footpaths, with directions included. If you reach the next direction without solving the clue, you'll know you've gone too far!

Clue Trails are a fantastic way to exercise your mind whilst spending time in the outdoors! We hope you give it a go...

Who are Clue Trails for?

Clue Trails are a fantastic activity for any age to enjoy. We've had lovely feedback ranging from couples, teenagers, friends and families of all ages who have enjoyed the challenge!

Clue Trails are not designed with young children in mind, however children Key Stage 2 upwards are generally able to crack the clues with a little guidance from an adult/teenager. There will be some clues that younger children can help with, but there are lots to entertain them in other ways on the way round...

What if we get lost on the Clue Trail?

Clue Trails have route directions in to guide you without needing a map. If you think you have gone wrong, just retrace your steps until you are in a familiar spot and try again.

Whilst every effort has been made to design the route to use safe road crossings, there will be occasions where you may need to cross a road without traffic lights or a zebra crossing. Please take care, and only cross when it is safe to do so.
